Remember the days when mirrorless cameras were first launched? With no need for a mirror or even a mechanical shutter, we would have thought that even the basic design of a camera would change. But that has not happened. Mirrorless cameras are increasingly looking either like D-SLRs or like rangefinders of an older era. Look at the Fujifilm X-T10 and you will be struck by its resemblance to the vintage Asahi Pentax H2 of 1960.
Why has the design of cameras not evolved much in the last few decades? Are we at the zenith of design capabilities? What do you think?
